Cardmarket vs CardTrader for sellers: fees, shipping and running both

On 7 November 2026, the Cardmarket help pages gave a 5% sales commission, and the CardTrader fee page gave 5.3% on a direct sale for an EU seller. The fees are close. The bigger differences are how you ship, when you are paid and how each site grades a card.

The short answer

Cardmarket and CardTrader both take about 5% of a sale from an EU seller. Cardmarket pays an untracked order when you confirm the shipment. CardTrader holds the money until the buyer confirms arrival, unless the order is untracked and under €25.00.

CardTrader also has CardTrader Zero, where you send one weekly parcel to a CardTrader warehouse. It is open to sellers with at least 100 feedback and 1000 unique articles. You do not have to choose one site: list the same copies on both and sell each copy once.

Seller fees on each site

Each figure below comes from the official help or fee page of each site, read on 7 November 2026. Check both pages before you set your prices, because fees change.

On a 20 € single, 5% is 1.00 € and 5.3% is 1.06 €, before VAT on the CardTrader fee. A seller outside the EU pays 7.0% on a direct CardTrader sale and 10.0% on a Zero sale.

How you ship and when you are paid

Cardmarket: Cardmarket sets the shipping cost of each method. You have seven days to post a paid order. Registered shipping is required over 25,00 €, and for some shipments over 10,00 € from a new seller. The Trustee Service covers orders over 25 euros and the first five sales of a new seller.

CardTrader, direct sale: CardTrader holds the payment until the buyer confirms the order. The buyer has the maximum shipping time plus 17 days to confirm. After three reminder emails, the order is marked Arrived and you are paid. An untracked order under €25.00 pays when you mark it as shipped. A seller with fewer than 10 confirmed orders can offer tracked shipping only.

CardTrader Zero: each week you get one order for all your Zero sales of the past 7 days. You ship it to the nearest CardTrader warehouse within the next day. You are paid after the warehouse receives and checks the parcel, and 25% of the value of pending orders stays in your wallet until then.

How each site grades a card

The two sites grade cards in different ways. Cardmarket has seven grades: Mint, Near Mint, Excellent, Good, Light Played, Played and Poor. CardTrader has five: Near Mint, Slightly Played, Moderately Played, Played and Poor. CardTrader does not use Mint at all.

Grade each copy once, then translate the grade with care when you list it on the other site. On CardTrader, a buyer who gets a lower grade than the listing is offered a refund of 10% of the price for each grade of difference. Grade one step lower when you are not sure.

Run both from one stock

You do not have to choose. You can list the same singles on both sites and let the first buyer win. The risk is a copy that sells twice, so each physical copy must live in one stock.

RestocksAIO connects one Cardmarket account and one CardTrader account in the Cards tab. Each copy is one unit. When a copy sells on CardTrader, the app lowers its Cardmarket quantity, and a Cardmarket sale lowers the CardTrader quantity. A CardTrader Zero order counts as a sale too.

Pricing rules write Cardmarket prices only. On CardTrader, you set the price when you list a copy. Cardmarket orders ship from Cards, Orders, with a pick list and packing slips. CardTrader orders ship from Orders, where you add the tracking code.

FAQ

Can I sell the same card on Cardmarket and CardTrader?

Yes. Keep each physical copy in one stock and list it on both sites. When it sells on one, take it off the other. RestocksAIO does this for the copies in the Cards tab: a sale on either site lowers the quantity on the other.

Which is cheaper for sellers, Cardmarket or CardTrader?

The commissions are close. On 7 November 2026, the Cardmarket help pages gave a 5% sales commission, and the CardTrader fee page gave 5.3% on a direct sale for an EU seller, with VAT added to the CardTrader fee. CardTrader charges no withdrawal fee. The Cardmarket Trustee Service adds a fee based on the order value. Check both fee pages before you price.

Does RestocksAIO reprice CardTrader?

No. The Cards pricing rules write Cardmarket prices only. On CardTrader, you set the price of each copy when you list it.
