Fee structure

How GOAT and Alias charge a seller

A sale has three deductions: the commission, the seller fee of your location and the cash-out fee.

Commission by seller rating

Alias sets the commission by seller rating. A rating of 90 or above pays 9.5%. A rating below 50 pays 25%. Canadian sellers pay 2.9 points more in each band.

The last column shows the payout for a US$200.00 sale from the United States with prepaid shipping and a bank cash out.

70-8915%US$159.20
50-6920%US$149.20

Seller fee by location

Alias adds a fixed seller fee to each sale. Your location sets the amount. Alias publishes the fee in USD for every location.

The lower Drop-Off fee applies to confirmed orders that you drop off with Alias. The table shows a Drop-Off fee only where the data of this calculator has one.

Cash-out fee

Alias charges a cash-out fee of 2.9% of the selling price when you withdraw to a bank account or to PayPal. Earnings that you keep as GOAT balance do not pay this fee.

A seller outside the United States who cashes out in USD pays an optional cross-border fee of 0.6%.

Consignment and shipping after the sale

Consignment uses the same commission bands as a sale that you ship after the order. It also uses the same seller fee as prepaid shipping.

The Drop-Off fee does not apply to items that you drop off for consignment.

Currency and VAT

Alias publishes the seller fee in USD. For a payout in EUR or GBP, enter your own USD conversion rate. The calculator does not assume a rate.

The calculator does not model VAT.
